Overview: The AUTION MAX™ AX-4280 Automated Urine Chemistry Analyzer
(AX-4280) provides a twelve-test profile including nine chemistries, specific gravity by refractometer, color and clarity. The advanced technology of the AX-4280 and the AUTION test strips delivers reproducible and accurate results. The AX-4280 can operate with batches of 60 to 210 patient specimens, with the addition of optional Load/Unload Trays, and has continuous loading capability. The AX-4280 is a benchtop urine chemistry analyzer that combines speed, automation and reliability providing the laboratory with a means to streamline urine chemistry workflow and increase testing capacity. The AX-4280 can function as a stand-alone urine chemistry analyzer or as part of the iQ200 Automated Urinalysis System.

Technical Description: The AX-4280 auto-identifies and processes bar-coded specimen tubes in 10-position racks by mixing, sampling, and analyzing automatically. A 1.0 mL urine sample is aspirated, aliquots are deposited on the AUTION 9EB Strip, and the remainder of the sample is taken to the spectrophotometer and the refractometer for color, clarity and specific gravity measurements. Dual wavelength reflectance and a color compensation pad limit interferences from color, turbidity or drugs. In one minute the first result is available for Glucose, Protein, Bilirubin, Urobilinogen, pH, Blood, Ketones, Nitrite, Leukocyte esterase, Specific Gravity, Color and Clarity. Strip loading is extremely simple and the operator can load from 1 to 200 strips at a time. The AX-4280 is designed to streamline workflow and increase testing capacity through the combination of speed, automation, ease of use and reliability.
